A 32-year-old man was shot dead in the street near the Barreiro river terminal, south of Lisbon, on the night of Tuesday 11 August 2026. Emergency services were called to the Rua da Recosta at about 10.50pm. The victim, a Guinean national who lived in Germany and was in Portugal on holiday, was shot in the face at close range and died at the scene.
