A passer-by found him with injuries consistent with violence and with clothes smelling of petrol. He was admitted to hospital; his condition was not made public. A man in his 20s was arrested later that day and provisionally charged by police with attempted murder. Police said they were investigating the connection between the two men, did not rule out that more people were involved, and planned to question the suspect the same day.
