A 36-year-old woman was fatally injured in a knife attack at around 12:25 on Wednesday 23 September 2026 in a municipal accommodation facility on the Grimpingstraße in Coesfeld, North Rhine-Westphalia. Witnesses found her with stab wounds to the upper body at her home address. She died at the scene despite immediate resuscitation attempts. Reporting describes her as a mother of three. Police arrested a suspect: on first findings, the victim's 43-year-old estranged husband, a Turkish national. He was detained shortly before midnight in the Achtermannstraße in Münster after a tip-off from a witness.
