The dismembered body of a 39-year-old man was found on the evening of Thursday 24 September 2026 in an apartment in via Gulli, in the Borgo Vittoria district of Turin. He was from Chivasso, in the province of Turin. According to the prosecution's account he was killed by blows from a club and by stab wounds. The investigation began with a call to the emergency number from the mother of a 26-year-old man, who told police in distress that her son had confessed to having badly hurt someone. On the direction of the Turin public prosecutor's office, police placed three people under a holding order. A man is suspected of homicide and of concealment of a corpse. Two women, one of them the tenant of the apartment where the body was found, are suspected of aiding an offender and of joint participation in the concealment of the corpse. The tenant, a 47-year-old teacher, had not appeared at the school where she worked since the start of the academic year, and colleagues had been asking for weeks where she was. Investigators are still working to establish whether the victim was killed in the apartment or brought there already dead. One line of inquiry concerns a drug debt. The prosecutor's office said it would put its requests on the validation of the holding order and on the detention of those held to the judge for preliminary investigations, and the validation hearing was set for the afternoon of 26 September 2026.
