A man is alleged to have killed his son at their home in Győr on the evening of 26 September 2026 after a family argument escalated. According to police, the suspect stabbed the victim in the chest with a kitchen knife; the victim was taken to hospital, where he died of his injuries. Officers arriving at the flat on Kossuth Lajos utca detained the suspect, who was taken into custody after questioning. Police applied to the competent prosecutor's office for his pre-trial detention. The county police criminal division is investigating the circumstances with expert assistance.

Egy ismeretlen elkövető 2026. szeptember 18-án hajnali fél kettő után a budapesti VII. kerületben, az Akácfa utcában, közterületen bántalmazott egy 36 éves férfit, aki a bántalmazásba belehalt. Az elkövető elmenekült a helyszínről. A Budapesti Rendőr-főkapitányság emberölés ügyében indított nyomozást, és a tettes forrónyomos felkutatása a jelentések idején folyamatban volt. A sajtóbeszámolók szerint az áldozat hajléktalanként élt, alkalmi munkákból és flakongyűjtésből tartotta fenn magát; személyazonosságát a beszámolók idején hivatalosan még nem erősítették meg.

A man was found dead in a flat in an apartment building in Erzsébetváros, the VII district of Budapest, on Sunday 16 August 2026. The report reached the Budapest police headquarters shortly after 1pm. Police opened an investigation on suspicion of homicide. A spokesperson said the investigation had been opened against an unknown perpetrator. No further details were released.

A vádemelési tényállás szerint 2025. január 29-én, Budapest V. kerületében, egy lakásban megöltek egy Budapesten élő, japán származású nőt. A vádlott a nő volt férje, egy ír állampolgárságú férfi, akitől az áldozat 2023-ban vált el, és aki a válás után Hollandiába költözött. A Fővárosi Főügyészség szerint a férfi azért határozta el volt felesége megölését, mert tartott attól, hogy a gyámhatóság a nő javára dönt a gyerekek Japánba költözéséről és a szülői felügyeletről. A vád szerint a tettet úgy készítette elő, hogy a halált tűzesetnek állítsa be: miután egyedül hagyta a lakásban az áldozatot, átöltözve visszatért, megfojtotta, majd felgyújtotta a kanapét, amelyen a holttest feküdt, és a bútor közelébe borosüveget, cigarettát és csikkeket helyezett el. Később visszatért a lakásba, és bejelentést tett a tűzről. A rendőrség első vizsgálatai alapján kizárták az idegenkezűséget, és a tűz okát dohányzásra vezették vissza. Az ügyben akkor állt be fordulat, amikor kamerafelvétel igazolta, hogy a férfi a tűz napján délelőtt — álruhában és maszkban — járt a lakásban; a boncolás pedig azt állapította meg, hogy az áldozatot a halála előtt bántalmazták. A rendőrség néhány nappal a gyilkosság után elfogta. Az ügyészség előre kitervelten elkövetett emberölés bűntettével vádolta meg a férfit, és fegyházbüntetést indítványozott. A man killed his mother at their shared home in Monor, Pest county, in January 2025, according to the charge against him. No source read for this record gives the day of the month, so the date is recorded at month precision. On the day she disappeared, by his own account, the two argued because he had asked her for money for alcohol from the shop and she refused. The argument escalated to the point where he struck her so hard that she fell to the ground, where she lay for hours while he went into town to deal with errands. Fearing that he would be held to account, he concealed her body in the concrete of the house terrace. He then reported her missing at the Monor police station. Officers searched for her for a year without result, although a number of suspicious circumstances arose: an ambulance had come that day for the woman's sick daughter and, unusually, the mother did not accompany her; the man renovated the terrace at exactly that time; and a rumour spread in the town that his mother had been in a relationship, which he had started himself without mentioning it to the police. He eventually confessed everything. He was taken into custody and attempted to take his own life at the police station while awaiting the order for his detention. The county chief prosecutor's office charged him with homicide. At a preparatory hearing at the Budapest-area court on 9 September 2026 he did not waive his right to a trial, did not admit the offence and declined to testify. Had he admitted it, the judge could have given judgment the same day; instead the court will hear witnesses and a psychological expert at the next trial day.
