A man in his mid-forties was seriously wounded with a sharp object in central Malmö on the afternoon of 26 August 2026, after police were called to a fight between Södervärn and Möllevångstorget. He was taken to hospital by ambulance; Region Skåne described his injuries as serious. Police initially reported that two men were involved in the incident, and officers searched the area for the second man. Later the same evening a man in his forties was arrested and detained on suspicion of attempted murder. Extensive cordons were in place between Södervärn and Möllevången during the afternoon.

A woman in her 60s was found dead in the Kvarngärdet district of Uppsala at around nine o'clock on the morning of Sunday 16 August 2026. Police found her and opened a preliminary investigation into suspected murder. Police technicians examined the suspected scene of the killing. A man was arrested on the lower of the two Swedish degrees of suspicion, reasonably suspected of murder. He was released on the Monday morning. A police spokesperson said the suspicions against him had weakened and that police had now obtained the information they needed from him.

A woman in her 50s was found dead at a home in Värmdö municipality, on an island in the Stockholm archipelago, on the afternoon of Tuesday 4 August 2026. Police were alerted to the address at around 16:30 and were initially reticent about the nature of the call, but confirmed at about 23:00 that a woman had been found dead there. The circumstances of the death led police to open a murder investigation. A prosecutor leading the preliminary inquiry confirmed to public radio that officers are searching for a person of interest in the case. No arrest has been reported. More than a day after the alert, police remained on the island through Wednesday evening. A spokesperson for the Stockholm police region said crime-prevention officers were present in the evening to provide reassurance and give residents an opportunity to speak with police.

Shots were fired at the balcony of an apartment in a multi-family residential building in Upplands Väsby, in Stockholm County, at 02:43 on the night of Monday 27 to Tuesday 28 July 2026. Both adults and children were inside the flat at the time. Police received several calls from witnesses and residents who had heard the shots. No one was injured. Police opened a preliminary investigation classified as attempted murder and aggravated weapons offence. A young man was apprehended on the Tuesday morning on suspicion of the shooting.

A 26-year-old man was shot dead in Hässelby, in the western part of Stockholm, shortly before 8pm on Friday 24 July 2026. There were many people in the area at the time, and a witness reported hearing five shots. The victim worked at a school in the district, which began extensive crisis support after the killing. Four people were being held on remand by mid-August 2026, all on probable-cause suspicion of murder and aggravated weapons offences: a 19-year-old man and three boys aged 17, 16 and 15. The fourth, the 17-year-old, was ordered detained in his absence on 4 August, arrested the following week and remanded on 10 August; he had no previous convictions. The prosecutor said the investigation remained at an early stage and was far from complete, declined to describe the roles of individual suspects or to discuss a motive, and said that whether the killing was linked to gang crime was among the questions being investigated.
